train staff on some of the most freqently used online databases
basic training on the latest technology such as MP3 or instant messaging
basic troubleshooting for common problems
Proposed (and very sketchy) remodel of library, Academic Learning Skills, and CEN 2nd floor lobby area.
open up the space to traffic flow by removing doors and existing wall into the "lobby" area
provide wind and cold "buffer" area between lobby and outside by installing a secondary entrance (similar to dept. stores such as Macy's)
Distance learning/online presence
Think about providing chat reference during evenings and weekends.
Provide a library presence to all of the online writing classes. For instance, "Ask a Librarian" logo on Moodle Writing courses.
Incorporate the library into a campus portal. Perhaps an ask a librarian chat box.
Communicate with instructors about library services - electronic reserves, NetFlix, how to use library database features such as search alerts, etc
Work with instructors to discuss how to provide materials to distant learners. May include: postal delivery, electronic reserve, "pick up anywhere" service from Summit,
